Description[]
Trust is an in-game variable that tracks how fondly a village thinks of you. It is represented by the icon.
On the map screen if you click the village icon you will be taken to the village overview screen. The village overview screen tells you who the faction belongs to, and whether or not it is occupied by the Brigands or other factions, or if you've liberated the village.
There is a progress bar that marks your progress on trust rankings for that village.
Trust-ranking[]
There are 4 tiers of trust ranking. In general the Trust rank reflects the settlers you can recruit for your player settlements by spending your renown.
- Associate - You'll achieve this fairly quickly, a quest or two is all it takes.
- A trust tier of this level is usually enough to successfully recruit villagers labelled as "beggars".
- Friend - At this rank you may be able to find tier 1 villagers that you can recruit as settlers, but your options are limited.
- Protector (1200 Trust) - At this rank you are likely to find tier 2 villagers to recruit as settlers, but most of them will probably say something to the effect that they don't trust you. You are more likely to get tier 1 villagers to join up.
- This rank is also where in general, you'll start the Village liberation quests. You'll be able to build some support structures for the neutral villages marked as Village (Insert Name Here) and the description will say build in "Neutral" village.
- Bellwright - At this rank you'll be able to recruit tier 3 villagers (the apprentices) and you'll be able to build things like the village vault or village granary.
Building trust[]
Building trust is accomplished by:
- Completing quests from the Elders, Experts and townsfolk
- Killing bandits in or near the region the village is in.
- Killing aggressive wildlife in or near the village.
- Building the neutral village buildings, Village Archery Range, Village Belltower, Village Granary, Village Herb Garden, Village House, Village Lantern, Village Shrine, Village Stable, Village Training Grounds, Village Vault, Village Well
- Building trophies, the Boar Trophy, Stag Trophy, or Wolf Trophy.
- Selling either Wolf Fang or Old Coin to the elder. Up to 50 per day, per village.
